Memo to Ayatollah Khamenei: Israel Wins

Yom Kippur is the most solemn day of the year for the Jewish people–and it arrived this week during an extremely solemn and troubling time for Israel.

There’s no easy way to say it: Israel’s enemies are clearly gaining momentum. In the Middle East. In Europe. And yes, right here in the United States.

Before you throw up your hands and say “Oh great, another depressing ‘Israel is in mortal peril’ piece,'” bear with me, because there is a major silver lining in all of this (although, incidentally, Israel is indeed now in mortal peril thanks to the West’s unconditional surrender to Iran over its nuclear weapons program).

We’ll get to the encouraging part shortly. But first, let’s review the bad news:

–Iran is emboldened and ascendant in the wake of the aforementioned disastrous nuclear deal, unleashing a steady barrage of genocidal threats against Israel and openly mocking the United States for its weakness.

–Russia is increasing its military presence in Syria, at Israel’s doorstep, by the moment. Vladimir Putin’s regime has reportedly now struck an alliance with Iran, the Syrian regime and the terror group Hezbollah to save Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. Meaning we’re apparently about to witness the strange spectacle of Russian forces fighting alongside the Shia jihadists of Iran and Hezbollah, even as Russia continues to battle Sunni jihadists in Chechnya, Dagestan and elsewhere in the restless Caucasus region. By the way, shouldn’t we be alarmed that a nuclear-armed, militarily powerful, expansionist Russia is now pretty much openly aligning itself with Hezbollah, a notorious Islamic terror group with global reach?

–Palestinian jihadists have laid siege to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount over the past few weeks, rioting and violently targeting Jewish worshipers–and garnering global Muslim support and mainstream media sympathy in the process. Memo to the rioters: Jerusalem is mentioned literally hundreds of times in the Bible, in both the New and Old Testaments. It is never mentioned in the Koran. Not even once.

–Although its foot soldiers are heavily involved in the Syrian conflict, Hezbollah remains armed to the teeth in southern Lebanon and Hamas is re-arming as both prepare for their inevitable next confrontation with Israel.

–ISIS continues to draw closer to Israel’s borders, both in Sinai and in Syria.

–The Obama administration and Europe badly want a Palestinian state. The Vatican has already recognized one. Rest assured, the usual rogue’s gallery of anti-Israel despots who will parade before this week’s UN General Assembly will have something to say about it as well.

–Anti-Semitism in Europe–driven largely by Muslim immigrants–is approaching levels unseen since the days of Hitler. And then, there’s this.

All of this global momentum against Israel–particularly the West’s outright capitulation to Iran’s nuclear demands–has given Israel’s greatest enemy a swaggering confidence and sense of imminent victory. Indeed, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, recently published a book describing in detail Iran’s strategy for destroying Israel and has declared that the Jewish State will cease to exist within the next 25 years.

Folks, that’s where the silver lining comes in.

Take a brief tour through the past 3500 years of world history. Pharoah, absolute ruler of Egypt, the most powerful world empire of the day. The Philistines. The Assyrians. The Babylonians. Haman, Prime Minister of the mighty Persian Empire. The Greeks. The Romans. The Ottomans. The Nazis.

Notice a pattern here? All of these individuals, empires and nations have two things in common: they all attacked and oppressed Israel and the Jewish people. And they all eventually vanished from the face of the earth. That’s quite a track record.

Israel, on the other hand, remains. Against all odds and beyond all human comprehension: a tiny island of democracy the size of New Jersey, thriving amid a sea of tyranny and terror.

I don’t believe all of this is by mere chance.

But whether you believe, as I do, that God’s hand is upon Israel or you don’t believe at all, history tells us that you can bet the house on Israel still being around 25 years from now.

The Iranian regime, however, is a different story.

In fact, by becoming the vanguard of global anti-Semitism and seeking Israel’s destruction, Ayatollah Khamenei and Iran’s mullahs have signed their own death warrant. So have Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS, the Muslim Brotherhood, Al Qaeda and the rest–just as Pharoah, Haman, Hitler and many others did before them. The vast majority of mankind still refuses to accept or acknowledge what God promised Abraham some 4,000 years ago regarding the people of Israel, as described in the Book of Genesis, Chapter 12, Verse 3:

“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you.”

In the Book of Joel 3:2, God takes it one step further, saying a day is coming when He:

“…will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.”

That’s very bad news for Ayatollah Khamenei.

It will be far from easy, but Israel will not only survive–it will thrive.

History–and the God of all history–guarantee it.
